There are so many things that you can do – if you know about them – some you have to pay for – others are free.
Have a look at what we have on offer.
There are plenty of options for going to the cinema.
In Huddersfield we have the Odeon – each week there is a full programme, but also on a Tuesday afternoon is the Silver Club for over 60’s – where the charge is about £3.50 each for film, drink and biscuits (if you have a CEA card you only pay for 1 and get the carer free) – the film is different each week.
The Light opened in Huddersfield in April 2025 – not only do they have cinema screens, but a whole host of other entertainment activities. On a monthly basis they provide dementia friendly screenings – which include refreshments, and an environment more suitable for those suffering with memory problems. Select for more information.
CEA Card – a national card scheme developed for UK cinemas by the UK Cinema Association (UKCA). There is an annual charge of about £6. The Card enables a disabled cinema guest to receive a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them when they visit a participating cinema. This makes visits to cinema very cheap – it can also be used with the Silver Club above – so 2 people for £3.50!!!!!!!!!!!
